Traditional Microneedling
Traditional Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation therapy that is also called collagen induction therapy. This procedure stimulates the production of collagen and generates new skin tissue. This makes the skin smoother, firmer and improves the tone and texture.
Best results are seen when completing a series of 3 treatments that are spaced 4 weeks apart.
This procedure is great for people who suffer with acne scars (including ice pick scars), sun damage, uneven skin tone, large pores, post inflammatory pigmentation and skin laxity.
At Boss Gal, all traditional microneedling procedures are performed by a highly-trained medical provider to ensure you are getting the best result and safest treatment.
The treatment can be done if you’re having an active breakout as your medical provider will avoid those areas. If you are having a large breakout, it is recommended to wait until you get your acne more under control to do this procedure.

Traditional Microneedling FAQs
Most people rate the procedure as a 3 out of 10 on a pain scale (0 being no pain, 10 being extreme pain). We use topical numbing prior to the microneedling to make it as comfortable as possible.
Immediately after your SkinPen procedure you will experience redness, pinpoint bleeding, minimal swelling and you may feel like you have a mild sunburn. All of these effects are a normal response post procedure. This is considered a minimal downtime procedure, you may resume normal daily activity the following day and any residual redness may be covered with makeup.

The treatment is a form of controlled injury where the damage stimulates the growth of healthy new skin, which can benefit common skin issues like acne scars and wrinkles. We treat your face and neck during this procedure.
RADIOFREQUENCY MICRONEEDLING FAQs
Radiofrequency, or RF for short, is an energy that when delivered beneath the skin, causes an increased collagen stimulation and has a skin tightening effect.
We begin by numbing the area (face and neck). Once numb, the microneedling handpiece is used to treat each area of the face. The device has tiny gold-plated needles that are inserted into the skin. We make three passes on each area of the face and neck, varying the depth of the needles based on each area. We recommend a series of 3 treatments spaced 1 month apart for best results. You will notice an immediate affect from the treatment but your body will continue with its “supercharged” collagen production for the next 8-12 weeks following the procedure.
After the treatment, you will be red and the area will feel like you have a sunburn. Good news though! At Boss Gal, we offer a complimentary post-treatment cooling mask.
A hydrating essence gel concentrate mask that is designed to calm, soothe, and intensely hydrate the skin. Loaded with exosomes, peptides, and hydrators, this mask reduces post-RF microneedling downtime and rebalances the skin's moisture barrier at a cellular level.
Exosomes are small messenger molecules that help the different cells in your body communicate. Think of them as miniature postal service workers, that deliver messages from one cell to another. These small carrier vesicles contain “cargo” made up of bioactive proteins, growth factors, and nucleic acids that signal nearby cells to initiate the wound healing process.
The redness will subside after a few hours. You may have some swelling and your skin will likely feel tight. This is normal. It is best to not apply make up for 24 hours. Avoid active skincare products that contain glycolic acid or retinol (vitamin A) for 7 days. Wear at least SPF 30 and avoid direct sun exposure for the next 7 days.
Anyone who is generally in good health and:
- Has NOT been on Accutane for the past year
- Does NOT have an active cold sore
- Does NOT have an active skin infection
- Are NOT currently receiving chemotherapy or radiation treatments
- Currently NOT pregnant
- Does NOT have keloids or a history of poor wound healing
