WHAT DOES BBL STAND FOR?

BBL stands for ‘Broad Band Light’. It is the next generation of the IPL or ‘Intense Pulse Light’ technology and is safer while providing superior results.

WILL IT BE UNCOMFORTABLE?

The procedure is gentle, noninvasive and safe. Generally, there is no need for a topical anesthetic but your Nurse Practitioner may choose to use it on more sensitive areas.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT?

You will experience redness that typically fades within a few hours. Pigmented lesions will darken and gradually flake off and fade over the next 7-10 days. Often your treated skin will feel smoother, fine lines and pores begin to be less noticeable, and sunspots or uneven pigmentation will fade. Results depend on your skin’s condition, the number of treatments, and the area treated.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECOVER?

This is a non-invasive and gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work, apply makeup, and resume most of your activities immediately. What you will not be able to do is have prolonged sun exposure over the next 2-4 weeks.

WHAT AFTERCARE DO I NEED?

It is important to follow your Nurse Practitioner’s instructions. Sun exposure is the biggest thing you want to avoid. If you must go outdoors, it is recommended that you cover your treated skin and use sun block of SPF 30.

WHAT DOES THE PROCESS LOOK LIKE?

STEP 1

Skin is first treated with BLUE BBL light to eliminate acne-causing bacteria at its source, deep down in the pores.

STEP 2

Skin is then treated with YELLOW BBL light to reduce the inflammation and acne-associated redness to give you healthy, luminous skin.

STEP 3

For added benefit, the skin is then treated with SkinTyte using INFRA-RED light in rapid, gentle pulses to initiate the body’s natural healing process.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Most patients can begin to see improvement to their skin after only one treatment. The skin should look clearer and overall more even.

For optimal results, we recommend you undergo 4-6 treatments, each performed a week apart. Touch-up treatments are also ideal to maintain your positive results and continue fighting acne-causing bacteria.

The number of treatments and rate for undergoing follow-up sessions will vary based on the type and severity of your acne.
