What is sculptra?
Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable filler that can smooth deep wrinkles like marionette lines and reverse volume loss that can cause issues like sunken cheeks and chin wrinkles. This filler contains an ingredient called poly-L-lactic acid, shortened to PLLA.
Who is a good candidate for sculptra?
Did you know you lose about 1% of collagen per year? By age 45, you face up to 25% of collagen loss! While this is normal, you may find that wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging begin to become an issue for you. These are all common and inevitable parts of the aging process, but that doesn’t mean that you have to live with them forever.
how does it work?
After it has been established that you are a good candidate for the treatment, you will receive injections of a minimum of 2 vials. You will then schedule a follow up visit in 5 weeks to receive 2 more vials.
The results, unlike dermal fillers, is a gradual process as your body reacts to the Sculptra and begins to supercharge its collagen production.
What is the aftercare?
You’ll be able to get right back to your regular schedule after your appointment with only a few recommendations for the first few days after treatment. We ask clients to massage the injection site for five minutes, five different times a day.
These self massages further ensure that the Poly-L-Lactic acid is fully distributed. We also recommend that patients avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for several days after their injection.
